Cornerstone's mission is to prevent domestic abuse. We provide children and adults a continuum of services that build sustainable self-reliance and revives the human spirit. We educate, advocate, and lead the way to social change. Cornerstone's goal is to end the generational cycle of domestic abuse that devastates families and robs children of their true potential. Our community based services address the immediate crisis, the aftermath, and the long-term effects of domestic abuse. We assist victims of domestic abuse to overcome the barriers they face as they work to rebuild their lives. Cornerstone's residential program is a seamless continuum of housing and supportive services designed to meet the needs of victims and their children fleeing a violent relationship. Our programming provides support and resources that victims need to be able to move beyond the abuse and begin to build a better life for them and their family.
Our children and youth program teaches young people the skills they need to negotiate and mitigate the violence in their lives. We facilitate healing and rebuild self-esteem so children and youth are able to grow into adults capable of loving, healthy, nonviolent relationships. Cornerstone's school-based violence prevention program is a unique school-based program combining classroom education with individual and group counseling. Since 1995, Cornerstone staff have presented in front of over 140,000 students in 4500 classrooms. Cornerstone school-based staff also work directly with students (K-12) living with family or dating violence, sexual assault, harassment, bullying, and anger. Find more information on the web at:
